NORMAL TRAFFIC: Private buses proceeding to Bangalore from Hosur on Sunday. Hosur: The inter-State traffic, which remained suspended on Saturday following the torching of a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus in Hosur, resumed on Sunday. Miscreants stopped the bus bound for Bangalore from Villupuram on the Hosur flyover and poured petrol on the vehicle and set it afire. In another incident, miscreants damaged the windscreens of a KSRTC bus near the old bus stand here. As a precaution, the authorities suspended bus services to Karnataka on Saturday. Only a few private buses were operated from Hosur to Bangalore. With the situation having eased, the inter-State traffic resumed from 3 p.m. on Sunday. Meanwhile, security has been stepped up along border check posts. A reception centre with ambulance facility has been set up at the Zuzuvadi check post. The district administration has appointed four executive magistrates to assist the police in maintenance of law and order, official sources said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
