For the people: Talasani Srinivas Yadav during his ’Padayatra’ on Sunday. HYDERABAD: Official spokesperson of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Sunday visited several hutments and colonies coming under Secunderabad division as part of ‘stock-taking’ exercise, in view of the upcoming byelections. The former minister interacted with locals, especially women and children, and visited hutments located in and around Parsigutta as part of the ‘Paadayatra’. The residents, during the TDP leader’s visit, complained on issues related to bad roads, out-of-order streetlights, and scarcity of functional bore-wells. The TDP leader, along with several party workers, received complaints from the residents of Bapujinagar, Mylargadda, Parsigutta, Sriramnagar, Mohammad Guda, Annanagar and Venkateshwara Nagar in Secunderabad. Due to rains, roads in several colonies wore a battered look and a majority of residents raised this issue with the TDP party workers. Residents also informed that not a single power bore-well is functioning normally in their colonies. The Syntex tanks installed to store water during summers are also not functioning, they alleged. The TDP leader said that Secunderabad division is ‘the most’ neglected division, as far as providing civic amenities are concerned. Mr. Srinivas Yadav reiterated that out of 375 existing bore-wells in the division, 75 per cent are not functioning. Regular ‘Padayatras’, at least once a week, would be taken up, to elicit such problems from residents, Mr. Srinivas Yadav informed. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
