Police use force to disperse mob

RAJAPALAYAM: Police used “mild force” to disperse a mob that tried to prevent another group from entering a temple here on Tuesday evening.

The police said people of same community from different villages, Pazhayapalayam and Sammandapuram, had differences over the administration of Thiruchitrambalam Gurunatharswamy here. While devotees of one group tried to make arrangement for a temple feast for Wednesday, the other group tried to block them. The police have picked up a few persons with regard to the incident.
