Unified service rules for teachers

HYDERABAD: The much-awaited unified service rules for teachers are likely to be announced within a week or two, sources said. The file that is presently pending with the Union Home Ministry would reach the Prime Minister’s Office by the weekend and thereafter, it would be sent for the Presidential assent after which the unified rules would come into effect immediately. “The department will be busy in promotions and transfers at different levels once they come into effect,” a senior official said adding the department had already evolved a transparent process in this regard. –Special Correspondent
