Ramesh wins

CHENNAI: K. Ramesh Babu (IOC) and D. Swarnalatha of AGORC clinched the men’s and women’s singles titles respectively in the IDBI Recreation Club and Cultural Association annual inter-bank carrom tournament held here on Tuesday.

The results:

Men (final): K. Ramesh Babu bt C. Bharathidasan 25-18, 25-1; (semifinals): K. Ramesh Babu bt S. Sakthivel 25-13, 25-0; C. Bharathidasan bt N. Premkumar 25-15, 25-7.

Women (final): D. Swarnalatha bt R. Sharmila (AGORC) 25-14, 6-25, 25-8; (semifinals): D. Swarnalatha bt G. Revathy (IB) 16-25, 25-20, 25-14; R. Sharmila bt D. Yuvarani (IB) 25-5, 25-5.

Non-medallist final (bank staff only): Mohan Mensi (RBRC) bt S. Ganesan (RBRC) 16-25, 25-14, 25-20.
