Kills children, ends life

Bangalore: A 26-year-old woman killed her children and committed suicide by hanging herself to death from the ceiling in Muthkur village in Anugondanahalli police limits on Tuesday. The police said that Munirathnamma strangled her three children, Mallesh (5) and twins, Sowmya (3) and Ramya (3), before she killed herself. The police said Munirathnamma was upset as she was not able to go to her native Bangarpet in Kolar district for Ugadi.

The police said that Munirathnamma’s husband Ashwath had been to work and her mother-in-law was out on some work when the incident occurred. Noticing no activity at the house, neighbours broke open the door to find that she had killed her children and hanged herself. Village Panchayat member Venkataraju filed a complaint with the police.
