Sangareddy: Medak Superintendent of Police S.Mohammad Iqbal, speaking to reporters here, said that the police department has asked the contractor of the expansion work on National Highway 9 to erect sign boards to avert major accidents. The SP warned that he would be forced to initiate action on the contractors holding them also responsible for the accidents. Elaborating on the plans to improve strength for highway patrolling the SP said that the plan is to withdraw extra force from police stations with less pressure and put them on duty on the highways. He said that setting up check posts on all important cross on the highway would help in curbing accidents arising out of rash and negligent driving.
