VIZIANAGARAM: Alleging caste discrimination, Congress MLA from S. Kota (ST) Assembly constituency Kumba Ravi Babu on Thursday faxed a complaint to the Chairman of Privileges Committee, the Chief Minister, the State Chief Secretary and the Director-General of Police against Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh Mann. Informing this to The Hindu, Dr. Ravi Babu, who is also Chairman of Legislative Committee on SC/ST, said that ignoring him for official functions in his segment amounts to insulting a duly elected representative. He said that the Superintendent of Police had not consulted him on inauguration of newly built Vepda police station but had sent an invitation card through a constable on Tuesday afternoon. In fact, the MLA planned to invite the Home Minister for the inauguration. Minister for Housing Botcha Satyanarayana inaugurated the building on Wednesday evening. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
