BANGALORE: ASC registered its second successive win with a surprise last minute strike against Karnataka State Police (KSP) in a Group ‘A’ match of the Puttaiah Memorial football tournament for the Super Division teams at the football stadium here on Thursday. After being on the backfoot for most part of the match, the armymen did pose a few threats in the second session but two brilliant saves on the goalline kept the slate blank. However, in the final minute of injury time, a perfect left-footed cross from Rakesh Singh saw substitute Raju Biswas heading home in style leaving KSP custodian Nagendra clueless. Earlier, ASC had defeated ADE 3-0 while KSP outclassed Postal. The Group B has been reduced to a three-team affair and HASC, by virtue of its 1-0 win over CIL on Wednesday, made the last four grade.
