Global outsourcing market valued at $ 350 billion

SmartCity townships were also given focus


KOCHI: As part of efforts to enhance its reputation in the global arena and to attract potential customers and investors, SmartCity has taken part in the two-day OutsourceWorld London held on April 16 and 17.

Considered a premier business trade platform for executives with a need to outsource business services, OutsourceWorld London brings face-to-face globally acclaimed companies and potential customers.

SmartCity, a global network of self-sustained townships for knowledge-based industries, engaged the outsourcing companies in the United Kingdom to expand their business to SmartCity Malta or SmartCity Kochi, two of its townships.

The global outsourcing market today amounts to about $350 billion and as such, there is a great demand for outsourcing.

“Our participation served to raise awareness and interest about SmartCity among social, regional and international audience and at the same time [served] to engage stakeholders,” Fareed Abdulrahman, Chief Executive Officer of SmartCity and a director board member of both SmartCity Kochi and SmartCity Malta, said.

He made a presentation titled “SmartCity – managing change when going global.” Right destination, local partners and local solutions, international partners and international solutions and workforce skill statistics were highlighted as the advantages of SmartCity. Besides, infrastructure and other opportunities within the SmartCity townships were also given thrust during the presentation.

Mr. Abdulrahman said that the participation helped to inform audiences about SmartCity’s project features and benefits, educate audience on its value proposition, and generate further brand visibility for SmartCity. “We are coming back from this convention with quality leads that will initiate and maintain relationships with potential investors, customers and stakeholders,” he said.
