First ship berths at Krishnapatnam Port

HYDERABAD: Krishnapatnam port in Nellore district received the first vessel on its berth on Friday. Incidentally, the first vessel, M. V. Faruke, carrying two Gottwald-make mobile harbour cranes is on its maiden voyage. The ship was berthed using dedicated tugs with the in-house expertise, said a release from Krishnapatnam Port Company Ltd.

The port was being developed as one of the largest, deep-draft mechanised one in the country.
