India loses to China

NEW DELHI: The Indian boys went down 1-2 to host China in the semifinals of the Asia-Oceania World Junior under-14 tennis championship at Shenzen on Friday.

India had earlier qualified for the World Group final to be held in the Czech Republic in August by making the semifinals of the regional competition.

The results: China beat India 2-1 (Zhao Cai bt Digvijay Singh Mehta 6-4, 6-4; Xin Gao lost to Ronit Bisht 3-6, 1-6; Xin Gao & Jun Nan Tao bt Digvijay & Ronit 3-6, 7-5, 6-3).
