Accident hits traffic for hours Crime notes

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Sarjapur Road users had a frustrating time on Friday when a collision between a bus and a military truck brought traffic to a halt for four hours.

The police said that a BMTC bus (Route No. 500) hit the truck as it was entering Iblur Military camp around 12.30 p.m.

The drivers of vehicles were injured and have been hospitalised.

Following the accident, traffic on the road came to a standstill as the two vehicles blocked the road.

Among those whose schedules went haywire because of the accident were employees who were on the way to reach the Electronic City and other connected areas.

Two hours later, the police were permitted to use the military camp’s towing machine, which removed the truck and the bus. By the time normal traffic was restored it was four hours.

A 27-year-old call centre employee was stabbed while he was returning home, in Chandra Layout on Thursday.

According to the police, Sikad was walking to his house from West of Chord Road after being dropped by the company’s vehicle.

A person stabbed him from behind and ran away. Sikad, a native of Kerala, has been admitted to a private hospital.
