PUDUKOTTAI: Cadres of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam lit deepams near the New Bus Stand here and other parts of the district on Saturday, in response to the party leader Jayalalithaa’s call to ‘light up’ the State to ‘end the dark age of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam rule.’ The party cadres lit ‘kuthuvilakkus’ to mark their protest. The district secretary of the party K. Vairamuthu led the agitation. Former Minister M. Venkatachalam, MLAs Nedunchezhian and Subramanian, the district secretary of the Jayalalithaa Peravai, Vijaybhaskar; and the former district secretary Rajendran were among those who participated.
