Trained youths to get certificates Make programme a success, officials told VISAKHAPATNAM: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy will participate in the Praja Patham programme to be held at the Police Barracks on Wednesday. Announcing this at a meeting, held on Monday to review the arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit, Mayor Pulusu Janardhana Rao directed the officials to make foolproof security arrangements. He said that the Chief Minister would hand over the orders for newly short-listed pensioners. Municipal Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Meena said that training was provided to 7,000 youth in hotel management and as security guards with promise of employment to 70 per cent of them. Placements orders and certificates would be provided to some of them by the Chief Minister. He directed the UCD Project Director J. Vijayalakshmi to ensure that the beneficiaries attend the meeting. Visakhapatnam-I MLA Dronamraju Srinivas called upon the corporators and officials to make the programme a success. Deputy Mayor K. Dorabbayi, corporators T. Vijay Kumar, Ch. Pothu Raju, Garikina Gouri, P. Jyothi and K. Venkata Rao were present. District Revenue Officer S. Satyanarayana directed the officials of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) to ensure that drinking water facility, sanitation and other civic amenities were properly maintained in the areas to be visited by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Wednesday. At a review meeting, the DRO also directed the officials concerned to ensure that people attending the Chief Minister’s meeting at Mallunaidupalem in Sabbavaram mandal do not face any problems. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
