Backward Classes support Chiranjeevi

VISAKHAPATNAM: BC leaders have expressed the view that megastar Chiranjeevi is their only hope in the forthcoming Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing a media conference on Monday, BC Aikya Sangharshana Samithi State president VGR Naragoni and vice-president Appa Rao said that they were in the city as part of the programme to create awareness among the BCs of north Andhra. They alleged that all political parties including the Telugu Desam and Congress had merely used BCs as vote banks for their own political advantage but had done nothing for them.

These parties were now coming out with fresh promises and announcing schemes for the BCs with an eye on the elections.

They said that all these were meant to mislead the BCs and once again win their votes. They felt that once Chiranjeevi plunges onto the scene all these would be relegated to the background and his party would secure a thumping majority.
