Minister assures probe, action

HYDERABAD: Home Minister K. Jana Reddy on Friday assured that he would hold an inquiry into allegations of ‘dictatorial behaviour’ towards prisoners by the Anantapur Jail Superintendent K. S. Fazal Haq and take suitable action.

He was responding to a representation submitted by K. Ramakrishna, member of CPI State Council and former MLA. The memorandum listed the ‘irregularities’ being committed by the superintendent, like not providing food as per norms, confining prisoners to barracks, and not allowing visitors.
