YSR favours PPP mode for afforestation

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has asked officials to explore the scope for public private partnership for massive afforestation of government and denuded lands.

He directed the Special Chief Secretary, EPTRI, the AP State Council of Science and Technology to coordinate the plan for massive afforestation programme.

At a review meeting here on global warming and afforestation, where animal rights activist Amala Akkineni gave a presentation on the disastrous affect of the earth and human beings, Dr. Reddy asked her to come out with a workable and practical action plan for implementation.
