11,000 litres of liquor seized

Chitradurga: In a major raid, the Chitradurga police has seized around 11,000 liters of illicit spirit at Imangala village of Hiriyur taluk here on Saturday. Superintendent of Police Labhu Ram, who led the raid, told The Hindu, that the approximate market value of the seized material and the lorry was Rs. 20 lakh. He said that the lorry was going to Bangalore from Hubli. The driver has been arrested. Imangala police have registered a case. — Staff Correspondent
