HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Minister J. C. Diwakar Reddy withdrew his threat to resign from the Cabinet over the issue of alleged one-upmanship by a rival Congress group in Dharmavaram constituency in Anantapur district after he had a fruitful meeting with Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Saturday night. The Chief Minister hammered out an understanding between Mr. Diwakar Reddy and the leader of the other group, K. Venkatarami Reddy, son of late MLA K. Suryapratapa Reddy, by advising him not to interfere in party affairs in each other’s constituencies — Tadipatri and Dharmavaram respectively. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
