Consulate denies report

Dubai: Five hundred passports went missing from the Indian consulate here last year, but the mission on Monday denied a media report, that some of them ended up with Dawood Ibrahim, India’s most wanted fugitive.

Venu Rajamony, Consul-General, said the passports went missing during transit from the Ministry of External Affairs to Dubai. He declined to comment further saying an enquiry was under way in Delhi. — PTI
