Lawyers oppose MP’s stance on Bench

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Members of the Thiruvananthapuram Bar Association has expressed protest over the alleged stand taken by Sebastian Paul, MP, against the setting up of a High Court Bench in the capital city, when a private bill by C.K. Chandrappan on it was introduced in Parliament recently. In a press release on Monday, the members urged the CPI(M) to clear the confusion over the MP’s stand. The constitution of a Bench in the capital city was part of the CPI(M)’s election manifesto, the release stated. —Staff Reporter
