One held for murder of child

CHENNAI: Police on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old man on charges of rape, murder and giving false information.

Following a complaint from Tamilselvan of Korukkupet that his three-year-old daughter Jayabarathi was missing, police registered a case. After a few days, her body was found in an abandoned ditch. Inquiries revealed that the baby was allegedly molested by Rajendran, a painter, at Korattur.

The police registered a case and produced him before a city court.
