GADAG: District and Sessions Judge Narendrakumar Gunaki on Wednesday sentenced a doctor to one-and-half-years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000 in connection with a bribery case. The judge found S.H. Naregal guilty of the charge and announced the prison term. Lokayukta officials caught Dr. Naregal on June 20, 2005 at his house in Mallasamudra while accepting a bribe of Rs. 250. The judge also ordered registration of a case against the witness who had turned hostile, a release said. — Staff Correspondent
