East Godavari girls win

VIJAYAWADA: East Godavari defeated Chittoor 3-0 in the final of the AP sub-junior hockey tournament for girls that concluded at the Acharya Nagarjuna University on Tuesday.

Vijayawada second

Vijayawada finished second in the all-India nine-a-side invitation football tournament held at Renigunta recently. It lost to Visakhapatnam Football Club 1-2.

Summer camps

Summer coaching camps in athletics, basketball, cricket and football will be held at the Railway Stadium from May 1, according to Welfare Inspector (Sports) N. Arjuna Rao.

Two new cricket nets (concrete and turf) will be inaugurated at the stadium on Thursday.

Camps in 19 events

Summer camps in 19 events, organised jointly by the Krishna District Sports Authority and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, will commence from May 1 at various stadiums and swimming pools in the city.

District Collector, Sailaja Ramayyar, will inaugurate the camps at the IGMC Stadium at 7 a.m.
