Rama Rao scores winner

VISAKHAPATNAM: A last-minute goal by B. Rama Rao helped Polamamba FC (Chittivalasa) edge out Sri Kodandarama FC 2-1 in a second round match of the Bhupathi Raju memorial football tournament at the GVMC stadium here on Wednesday.

Polamamba’s G. Ganesh put his team ahead as early as in the second minute but SKRFC shot back through Vikram in the fourth minute. Both teams fought for supremacy and the Chittivalasa team prevailed in the end to make pre-quarterfinals.

Earlier, Deichmann FC swamped Sportsmen Club 4-0 on its way to quarterfinals. Karthik scored in the sixth minute and Deichmann shot in three goals in the last three minutes of the game through Ravi, Sampath and Rajesh.
