BARCELONA: Rafael Nadal, eased into the third round of the Barcelona Open by beating Potito Starace 6-4, 6-2 on Wednesday.
The top-seeded Spaniard, seeking his fourth straight title here, has won 99 of his last 100 matches on clay.
Safin advances
At Munich, two-time Grand Slam champion Marat Safin beat Carlos Berlocq 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 on Wednesday to reach the second round of the BMW Open.
