APIIC holds health camp for workers

Kakinada: Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation has conducted free health check-up and awareness programme on AIDS for the welfare of industrial workers on the occasion of May Day on Thursday.

The programme was attended by M. Janardhana Rao, zonal manager, APIIC. It was held in Ramanaiahpeta. M. Mohana Raju, DRO, inaugurated the health camp.

K.V.V. Sathi Reddy, chief engineer, APIIC, Hyderabad, also attended the programme and distributed tricycles to the physically challenged. A team of doctors -- R. Sreedhar, A.Vijayalakshmi, V.V. Satyanarayana Murthy and S.D.J. Rama Raju -- examined the workers. A team of doctors from Sri Kiran Institute of Ophthalmology, conducted the eye test. T.C. Bhumaiah, president, and T. Gangadhara Rao, secretary of the Ramanaiahpet Grampanchayat Industrial area service society attended the health camp. The APIIC provided medicines and spectacles free of cost.

About 300 industrial workers participated in the programme.
