GE Shipping’s third interim, special dividend

CHENNAI: Great Eastern Shipping Company has posted a net profit of Rs. 1,356.81 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs. 883.31 crore in the corresponding period in the previous year. Total income has increased to Rs. 3,203.51 crore from Rs. 2,251.11 crore. The company has declared a third interim dividend of Rs. 5 per share for 2007-08 and a one time special jubilee interim of Rs. 2.50 per share. The company had earlier paid two interim dividends of Rs. 4 and Rs. 3.50 per share. The board has not recommended any final dividend for 2007-08. — Corporate Reporter
