Muthoot in final

Perinthalmanna: Muthoot Ernakulam CC will meet BPCL Kochin Refineries in the final of the Dr. M.S. Nair memorial all-Kerala cricket tournament here.

Manikantan lashed an unbeaten 66 as Muthoot upset favourite State Bank of Travancore (Thiruvananthapuram) by six wickets.

Batting first, SBT was restricted to 129 for eight in 30 overs. Manikantan and Valeedh (29 not out) then figured in an unbroken fifth wicket stand that sealed victory for the Ernakulam side.

Kochin Refineries crushed Cordiant Sports Foundation, Ernakulam, by 78 runs in the other semifinal.

The scores: SBT (Thiruvananthapuram) 129 for eight in 30 overs lost to Muthoot ECC (Ernakulam) 130 for four in 27.3 overs (Manikantan 66 n.o.).
