New Delhi: The retired IAS officer Arun Bhatnagar on Friday took over as Prasar Bharati Chairman, almost two months after the unceremonious exit of M.V. Kamath. Mr. Bhatnagar, 63, who was Secretary-General of the now defunct National Advisory Council, will have a three-year tenure. “It would be a challenging task,” he told PTI after assuming office. Mr. Bhatnagar has served as Principal Adviser in the Planning Commission, Additional Secretary in the Department of Telecom and Minister (Economics) in the Indian High Commission, London. — PTI © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
