Centuries galore in lower division games

CHENNAI: A flurry of centuries, led by T.K. Durga Prasad (103) for UFCC (T. Nagar) in the second division, formed the highlights in the TNCA lower division league matches held recently.

K. Sudhakar (105 not out) was the centurion for Vijay CC in the fourth division.

In the fifth division, S. Rajesh (106 not out) for Companions, V.M. Adhnan (119) for Harnath, A. Jegan (113 not out) for Venkat and A.K. Rajesh Kumar (143) for St. Mary’s were those who scored hundreds.

II divn.: UFCC (T. Nagar) 275 for seven in 50 overs (T.K. Durga Prasad 103, R. Ramesh 85, R. Madhavan five for 112) bt MCC 115 in 32.2 overs (M. Shanmugam four for 52).

III ‘B’: Venkateswara 119 in 26.5 overs (Karthik Narayanan 40, R. Rajan five for 33) lost to Appaiah Chettiar 120 for two in 11.3 overs (G. Panneer 52).

IV ‘A’: Youngsters 219 in 49.4 overs (Jaya Prakash 43, A. Anand 43, Anbarasan 56, Srinivasa Raju four for 38) lost to CCL 220 for three in 35.4 overs (Kumaresan 66, Praveen Kumar 61, Amith Singh 54 not out).

Prasad 113 in 25.1 overs lost to Sea Hawks 114 for one in 10.4 overs (Manoj Kumar 65 not out).

CUC 120 in 35.1 overs lost to Universal 122 for two in 13.4 overs (Md. Asif 64 not out).
