NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday said he was keen to bring in the Women’s Reservation Bill even in the current session of Parliament, but would have to consult the Union Cabinet about it.
Dr. Singh conveyed this to a Communist Party of India delegation led by its general secretary A.B. Bardhan, which submitted a memorandum demanding disbanding of the Salwa Judum in Chhattisgarh. The Prime Minister’s remark came in response to a query on the women’s Bill by Mr. Bardhan. The delegation included CPI MPs D. Raja and Gurudas Dasgupta. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
