Sylvan setting: The majestic palace and a lake in front of it. Isn’t the locale exotic? Well, it’s the Rajmahal in Chandragiri. The lake is now used for boating by tourists. The palace is a fine example of Vijayanagar architecture of 16th and 17th centuries. The construction is made of bricks, stone and mortar. No timber is used anywhere. The palace is located just 14 km from Tirupati in Chittoor district. —
