HYDERABAD: Three private guards hailing from Haryana created flutter on Tuesday when they were found carrying .32 revolvers inside Nampally Criminal Court Complex. Though Pankaj Prakash, Manish Kumar and Naresh Kumar had all-India firearm licenses, failure to inform the local police about their stay in city landed them behind the bars. They were taken into custody after registering a case under Section 30 of the Indian Arms Act against him. The firearms were seized from them, the Nampally Inspector V. Umender told reporters. The three persons were engaged as private security guards by a real estate businessman V. Vamshi Mohan, who was allegedly involved in a murder committed at S.R. Nagar nine years ago. The policemen, during routine frisking, found the guards clad in civilian clothes carrying weapons. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
