Jalpaiguri: A man has been sentenced to eight years’ rigorous imprisonment by a court here for killing his son a year ago. The sentence was passed by the Session Judge and Additional Judge of the fast track court of Mal, Banani Chakraborty, who also directed the convict to pay fine of Rs.10,000 and in case of default an additional two years’ jail term. Dangaru Praja, a resident of Dalimcot division of Neenglass tea garden, murdered his son Kashiram on February 10 last year in the presence of his daughter-in-law and two minor grandsons. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
