Two ULFA men killed in shootout

Dibrugarh (Assam): Two hardcore ULFA militants were killed, seven cadres of the group surrendered and a camp was busted by the security forces in Assam on Thursday.

Tarun Sonowal and Janak Bora, both identified as ‘lance corporals,’ were killed in a shootout with security forces at Hunjan village, under the Pengeri police station, in Tinsukia district. Two pistols and eight rounds of ammunition were recovered from them.

In another incident, security forces busted a camp at Parbatpur inside Joypur Reserve Forest here, but the militants escaped. — PTI
