Two held for posting letter bombs

Lucknow: Two persons were arrested on Friday for allegedly posting over 150 letters containing an explosive powder to senior officials in Kanpur district.

“Two persons, Deepak and R.S. Gupta, have been arrested for sending the letters containing the explosive powder to over 50 persons, including judges and senior officers, in Kanpur district,” Special Secretary Home Sarvesh Chandra Mishra told reporters here.

He said the powder contained in the letters was identified as TNT (Trinitrotoluene), which is an explosive.

The investigation was going on, he said. — PTI
