Tuticorin registers 93.69 % pass

Tuticorin: The district has registered a pass percentage of 93.69 in the Plus Two examinations, an increase of 3.29 percent over the last year results.

Though the district failed to produce any State-level ranks in general, R. Joya Kosma of Subbiah Vidyalayam Girls Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin, stood first in the State in nursing paper with a score of 197 marks out of 200. Overall pass percentage of Tuticorin revenue district: Number of students appeared 14,093 (boys 6,152 and girls 7,941); passed 13,204 (boys 5,655 and girls 7,549).

Pass percentage in Tuticorin Educational District (94.23 per cent): Number of students appeared 9,924 (boys 4,229 and girls 5,695); passed 9,351 (boys 3,898 and girls 5,453).

Pass percentage in Kovilpatti Educational District (92.42 per cent): Number of students appeared 4,169 (boys 1,923 and girls 2,246); passed 3,853 (boys 1,757 and girls 2,096).

Prakash of SPIC Nagar HSS, Tuticorin (1,173): Tamil 185, English 189, Physics 200, Chemistry 199, Biology 200, Mathematics 200; J. Mariadurai Margaret of Subbiah Vidyalayam Girls HSS, Tuticorin (1,173): Tamil 190, English 188, Economics 195, Commerce 200, Accountancy 200, Business Mathematics 200. III. Jasper Rathinam of SPIC Nagar HSS, Tuticorin (1,172): Tamil 190, English 191, Physics 200, Chemistry 192, Biology 199, Mathematics 200; Ignatius Joel Deepthy of SPIC Nagar HSS, Tuticorin (1,172): Tamil 188, English 191, Physics 200, Chemistry 197, Biology 196, Mathematics 200; Sudakar Ram Kumar of Sakthi Vinayakar Hindu Vidyalaya, Tuticorin (1,172): Tamil 192, English 192, Physics 194, Chemistry 200, Computer Science 194 and Mathematics 200.

A total of 16 schools in the district (10 from Tuticorin Educational District and 6 from Kovilpatti Educational District) secured hundred per cent results. P. Anand of Sacred Heart HSS, Sattankulam, stood first (1,047) in the district among the visually challenged candidates.
