Chennai: Kings XI Punjab skipper Yuvraj Singh predicted a high-scoring match against the Chennai Super Kings on Saturday. “It doesn’t matter how much we’ve scored in the previous matches. It’s important we do well on the day of the match. The wicket here is good for batting, so we can expect a lot of runs,” he said. On his captaincy and what has worked well for Punjab after its initial losses, he said, “communicating is very important in captaincy. We’re working well as a team now, and sticking to our plans and targets. “We’re not worried about Dhoni’s plans or what the Chennai side is planning to do. We’re focussing on our strategies.” Coach Tom Moody was pleased with the balance in the squad, which has notched up five consecutive wins. “We have good bowlers, attacking batsmen and all-rounders, so I’m happy with the balance and the way we’ve performed so far; but it will have no bearing on this game. We need to perform well in the match,” said Moody. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
