Girls all pass in Karaikal

KARAIKAL: Karaikal district in the Union Territory of Puducherry has registered 80.47 per cent pass in the Plus Two public examinations for which results were announced on Friday.

G. Palani, Chief Educational Officer (CEO), Karaikal district, told ‘The Hindu,’ on Friday that all the first three ranks in Karaikal district were secured by the boys of Thanthai Periyar Government Higher Secondary School, Karaikal.

The CEO said that S. Aravind of the school had secured the first rank by scoring 1171 marks out of 1200.

S. Venkataramanan has secured 1168 and E. Aravindan 1159.

He pointed out that out of the 1,715 students appeared for the Plus Two public examinations this year 1,380 came out successful registering 80.47 per cent pass.

Out of the 720 boys appeared for the examinations 546 passed and 834 girls came out successful out of 834 girls appeared for the examination.

There are 13 higher secondary schools including nine Government higher secondary schools in Karaikal district and the Crescent English Arabic HSS at Ambakarathur, the only school that had achieved cent per cent pass in the examination this year.
