MAKING A MARK: R.Kumar, M.Santhosh and S.Suresh of Chromepet Government Boys Higher Secondary School who secured the XII Standard examination first three ranks in Lithographic Printing in the results declared on Friday. TAMBARAM: For schools in the southern suburbs of Chennai, be it government, aided or private, the success story continues. The Plus-Two examination results announced on Friday had a lot to cheer for schools in this part of Chennai as they produced State and district toppers. S.Murali Krishna of S.D.A.V., Adambakkam secured the State second rank among students who had opted for a second language other than Tamil. M. Radhika of Sita Devi Hindu Vidyalaya won the Kancheepuram district third rank, scoring 1,177 marks. She had opted for Tamil as the second language. Among the other achievers are Siddharth Chaturvedi who came State third in Hindi (197) and Lakshmi Bhavani State who came second in English (184) from Prince Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Madipakkam, V.Ranganathan of Kings Matriculation Higher Secondary School in the same area secured State third rank in Business Mathematics. He scored a centum in the subject and aggregated 1,176, but his second language was Sanskrit, officials of the School Education Department said. They said R.Kumar, M.Santhosh and S.Suresh of Chromepet Government Boys Higher Secondary School secured the first three ranks in Lithographic Printing with Chemistry group, scoring 959, 923 and 909 respectively. K.Nithya of the same school (vocational groups alone are co-educational) secured the State second rank in Medical Laboratory Assistant with Physics group. She scored 162 out of 200 in the subject. Her classmate U.Lakshmi, came State third. Among the government schools, Adi Dravidar Welfare Higher Secondary School in Meenambakkam had the highest pass percentage in Chengalpattu Education District. Out of 148 students, 129 passed with an overall pass percentage of 87 per cent. And the topper among government schools in this district was Jaishankar of Government Higher Secondary in Pallavaram with an aggregate of 1,139.
