KOLKATA: The sudden call-up of Aussie Brad Hodge for National duty has put the Kolkata Knight Riders in a spot of bother. When sought out for his reaction here on Friday, team coach, John Buchanan, said, “Hodge will be missed but we have enough talent to replace him. We want to try out Salman Butt in the opener’s role.” On the sudden development, Hodge said, “I am disappointed that I have to leave Knight Riders midway, but National duty comes first. It was a great experience spending time with the boys.” Knight Riders, which plays Deccan Chargers on Sunday, will not have the services of Shoaib Akhtar who is yet to regain full match fitness. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
