New software development centre

MADURAI: The U.S.-based multinational Nineteen Hour IT (NHIT) will open a software development centre along with a new branch here on Sunday.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, its executive director, P. Dayaparan, said that the new branch would have a strength of 150 in the first phase.

It would be increased to 300 by December in the second phase.

“The new centre will handle the work of clients such as Citibank, Glenna Mercantile Bank, U.K., and Pizza Hut, U.K.

We also have a tie up with the search engine major Google to develop operating system for its upcoming mobile venture’s platform ‘Android.’ We are targeting a business of US $ 4.5 million through this centre in this fiscal,” he said.

The revenue for this centre would be generated through projects involving customised software, restaurant and hotel management software and billing software.
