Killed in accident

NAMAKKAL: A man was killed when a lorry hit a motorcycle in Paramathi Velur near here on Saturday.

Police said the deceased was identified as Balasubramaniam of Kunnathur.

He was on the way to Vettukkattu Puthur village when the accident took place. He died on the spot.

Fatally knocked down

A woman was fatally knocked down by a car in Salem on Sunday morning. Police said the deceased was identified as Mathammal (55) of Deiva Nagar. She was trying to cross the road, when the accident took place. She died on the way to hospital.

An army man was fatally knocked down by a State Transport Corporation bus in Ayodhyapattinam near Salem on Saturday. Police said Selvaraj (35) of Minnampalli was waiting at the bus stop, when the accident took place.
