Karun finishes 12th in sprint race

KOCHI: After finishing a creditable fourth in the Saturday’s feature race, Chennai’s Karun Chandhok suffered a spin and ended 12th in the GP2 Series sprint race in Istanbul on Sunday.

With the drivers going for aggressive driving all through the circuit, Race Engineering’s Javier Villa and iSport International’s Karun, who should have finished among the points, came into contact with each other and went for a spin, pushing both to the back.

Romain Grosjean won the sprint race while Racing Engineering’s Giorgio Pantano took the honours in Saturday’s feature race.
