ICET held in 367 centres

HYDERABAD: The Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) was conducted without any hiccups in 367 centres across the State with 95.2 per cent of the registered candidates taking the test.

ICET-2008 convenor D.N. Reddy said that no untoward incident was reported anywhere in the State. However, one impersonation case was registered at Karimnagar and a police complaint was lodged.

He said 500 observers and 100 special observers were deployed for the test ensuring its smooth conduct. Earlier in the day, the APSCHE Chairman K.C. Reddy picked up the blue colour question paper set, which was flashed to all the test centres using the police wireless network and the media.

Despite several cautions scores of people came late and were turned away by the examination authorities. Prof. D.N. Reddy said that they had no other option but to turn them away.

He said rank cards would also be put on the website immediately after the release of results. ICET results are likely to be released only after the release of EAMCET results.
