NEW DELHI: A fire broke out in a footwear factory at Wazirpur here on Sunday. No one was injured. According to the Fire Service Department, three cylinders exploded in the factory at 1-30 p.m. About two dozen fire tenders took over two hours to douse the flames. The factory was gutted in the fire. “There were no casualties as the workers were outside the factory building for lunch when the fire broke out. The exact cause of the fire is not known, but it appears to have been caused by short-circuit,” said a senior police officer. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
