‘Promotions to staff achieving targets in Indiramma’

HYDERABAD: The State Government is actively considering a proposal for providing incentives to the officials who excel in their performance in the Indiramma housing programme.

In addition to cash incentives, the Government is proposing to give out of the turn promotions to the officers who achieve their targets from grounding the works to completion of houses within the stipulated timeframe.

Disincentives

At the same time, there will be disincentives to the non-performing officials like demotion from the existing posts, Housing Minister Botcha Satyanarayana said.

The Housing Minister was participating in the monthly review meeting convened by the Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy here on Sunday.

He also told reporters that Intinta Indiramma for documentation of the third phase works and Indiramma sambaralu for giving sanction letters would be launched as scheduled in June and July respectively.

Efforts intensified

The Government intensified its efforts to ground the works pertaining to 11.7 lakh houses under the second phase.

He admitted that there was delay in payment of amounts to beneficiaries during the last two weeks.

Mr. Satyanarayana added that this was because the mandal housing officer and other officials concerned were participating in Praja Patham programme.

It would resume now as the Praja Patham has concluded.

Cement firms

The Mr. Botcha Satyanarayana said that a majority of cement firms were complying with the requirement and supplying cement, but the supply was delayed in districts like Chittoor, Anantapur and Mahbubnagar owing to the shortage of trucks.
