Samba: Wireless intercepts and a fence cutter recovered from the militants killed in Sunday’s 12-hour-long encounter in Samba proved that they penetrated the border fence from the Sialkot district of Pakistan. Another militant, believed to have escaped, was shot dead on Monday. “We have recovered a fence cutter from a militant which establishes that they came from across the border. We have found food items with the markings of different Pakistan cities. We have also intercepts of militants talking to their mentors in Sialkot,” said DIG Farooq Khan, who supervised the Samba operation. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
